1988 Dan Robinson graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. However for Robinson, his formal education was just the beginning foundation to an ongoing process of discovery in the craft of fine art. Robinson continues to find inspiration and gather knowledge from several resources. He credits his peers his extensive art book collection and the many museum visits he has made as having significant influence on his work. He encountered several artists in particular who have been willing to share their insights as well as introduce and develop the vocabulary necessary to take the journey of a painter. Artists, Dan McCaw, Mark Daily, Clyde Aspevig and Graydon Foulger are often mentioned with thanks and appreciation. Dan makes his home in Arizona's Valley of the Sun where he lives with his daughter, Alyssa, and son Carter. Mr.
Robinsdon was strongly influenced by the artist Dan McCaw, who encouraged
him to explore within the medium of oil and to search for his own
personal direction. His paintings often speak of the power, intensity
and tranquility
of nature. Robinson was awarded the John F. and Anna Lee Stacy Scholarship
in 1995 and the Grumbacher Gold Medallion in both 1994 and 1995. |
